I was asked if I'd like to do some mess making for a local fundraising effort, "The Art Project". Participants are given a 5x7 canvas board to create works of art that are then auctioned to raise money. The proceeds go toward community programs including artists in the school. How could I possibly say "no"?

I decided to build up, on top of the canvas rather than paint on it. After much struggle with several types of glue... here's my contribution:

The theme this year was "community" so I figured I'd best make a wee village Wink

And that loverly glass base? A gaudy candle stick! Upcycling, charity and crafting... whhheeeeeee!

Ooooohhh! What a wonderfully crafty and clever idea! I love the moss all over the wee tops of the houses. Very well done!

I love the way you used the canvas, your tiny village is beautiful! Have you got any close-up photos? I'd love to see all the details. I hope it raises lots of money - I'm sure it will.

Great job and for a good purpose as well. Love your details, as always. I like the fundraising idea as well; so, thanks for that.
