Very nice! From the thumbnail I thought it was a pic of a real dog... reminds me of the dog I grew up with!

Do you use an armature?  I made 2 dogs and had trouble joining the legs so they were firm enough  Huh. Your dog looks great Smiley

Thanks guys! Smiley

He is standing on my hand...so about 5" long Smiley

And yes, itchy -do use a wire frame next time -it'll make a huge difference (I barely make anything without wire these days Cheesy)- it's harder in a way a felt it, but gives a better shape and some poseability (sp?).

Also -you can use the cheap floral wire Michael's Wink

Thanks.....I tried wire but it was too heavy to twist into shape.  I'll try the florist wire.

I tried a couple of little felted animals.  Mine are still pretty "amateur" looking, but at least everyone that saw them KNEW what they were supposed to be!!

Just as a data point, for the class that I took, we used pipe cleaners for the wire armature.  It seems to work pretty well.  The teacher did comment that she made the legs extra short, because otherwise beginners tend to not put enough fiber on the bottom (for the feet).  Then, with a little handling, the wire works its way out and gets pokey!

If it's not a trade secret, how did you do the eyes?  They are really convincing.

Thank You, Wwrich Smiley

I tried pipe cleaners when I first started making animals, but I didn't like how they looked and didn't feel they were strong enough, even thou they're easier to felt, than plain wire.

Oh and about the eyes - thanks! But there's no secret -they're just felted! Smiley
