I bought a cutting board at JoAnn and noticed later that it's labeled a "fleece cutting board". Does this differ from other cutting boards?

As far as I can tell, no really.  I haven't heard of the distinction before so I web searched it and came up with nothing.  If you had a picture to share that would be helpful in determining more.
