Featured Projects and home page thumbs

I would like to give some feedback about the thumbs on the home page - when I want to browse the projects on the home page I often can't tell what anything is until I open the thumb because they are zoomed in so close. This wastes a lot of time. It would be nice if there were a more "elegant" solution, where perhaps a full size photo displays when you hover the cursor over the photo, or an option to open a whole page of the selected category. Anything would be better than having to open each image to browse. And, when I'm sneaking a peek at Craftster while I'm at work, it increases my risk of getting in trouble for screwing around!

We actually do the Featured Project thumbnails like that totally on purpose.  We want them to be "teasers" that entice people to view new threads, explore the community and enjoy possibly new crafts they might not have otherwise thought to discover.

If you are viewing at work, and want to minimize the chance of getting caught , a better option for you might be to view them via their blog post.  Each set of Featured Projects has an accompanying blog, which has the thread titles included.  For example http://www.craftster.org/blog/october-17-2012-featured-projects/  While thread titles might not always perfectly describe the projects, it could give you a better indicator.

There will be a new batch up today, so they'll be easier to find on the blog!   The last batch got pushed down into the blog since we've been trying to do at least one blog a day.  We're busy busy! 

There are a few ways to find the Featured Project blogs.

-Click on Articles and type "featured projects" in the search box.
-This handy dandy link http://www.craftster.org/blog/category/craftster-community-spotlight/featured-projects/
-This link, which will take you to a page of ALL of our featured projects (rather than just the blogs) via the thread tags.  This link may take longer to load since we have sooo many featured projects http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?action=tags;sa=showtopics;tag=featured_project
