Hello
need some ideas for items for a care envelope for a male friend , he is in the USA and I am in Europe. He is never home to receive packages so things have to fit in an envelope for the mail.
So far I thought about making a mug rug. Need more ideas and he is 44 yrs , works very long hours in a hospital so no time for hobbies. Any suggestions would be great.

Try the misc. brain block section in the occasions and holidays forum (I probably have the names off, but hopefully you get the idea).  Some other thoughts I had -

cup cozy, especially if he gets teas/coffees at work

ID tag - I work in a hospital and my work ID has my first initial and last name, so I made my own poly clay one to add to the bottom of my ID with my first name.  Also, if he uses anything like a stethoscope or somesuch, an ID tag for that so it doesn't get claimed by someone else

ID lanyard - you could do an embroidered twill lanyard, with a breakaway clasp, or something with a magnetic clasp that falls away in case it gets grabbed.

Decorated/personalized pens/pencils

Decorated ID clasp - I hate lanyards personally, so I have the clips with the retractable wire for the ID, and you can get decorate the clip part.

Other thoughts are card wallets, tea wallets if he drinks tea, bookmarks, token/ticket/coin pouches.

A mug rug is a cute idea since it's nice and flat and would be easy to send in an envelope.

I was thinking of a card wallet too - they are always handy.

You could send some special treats or tea/coffee from where you live.

Does he use an ipod? Maybe something to hold that and his ear phones? I've seen some cute examples around Craftster.

You said he doesn't have much free time but does he do any cooking? Some nice cards with some of your favorite recipes might be fun and personal too.

I am going to move this thread over to the gift ideas board to see if anyone there can offer more help Smiley.
