I have tried unsuccessfully to make something like this before. Does anyone know what this technique is or where to find a tute for it? Any help would be great thanks!!

Have you tried drafting the pattern like this?



And then sewing the top part beside the waist line

(I hope my explanation isn't confusing)

Or even making it shaped like a square with a waist line?

Reply #2 has the pattern shape you want; you need to symmetrically pleat the addition into the waistband.

I liked this dress very much.Its stylish especially the print in the skirt is too good.I think black stockings with this outfit will increase the grace of this dress.
