I made this cute ( not so little) she is a very petite 16 year old, and wanted to be "Sally" from nightmare before Christmas. Of coarse no Sally is complete without her trusted friend "Zero" to help keep her safe. He is " Floating" above her sewing kit/ purse/ trick or treat bag. I didn't use a pattern, as my daughter doesn't know how to imagine what the end result will be, so I just measured her and went from there. She also wanted Sally to be a bit more frilly, so I added a pink satin slip with a sheer white lace of cob webs. It was really hard for me to tear the fabric to make it appear old and tattered, but I did it for her. Her sewing bag is a cardboard box that I covered with white glue and fabric to make it patchwork. Zero has a dowel holding him above the wooden spool (that I crafted from a large dowel with wooden wheels for the ends) left over from another project, with doll needle, and black cotton yarn, and large colorful scissors. I free handed the pattern of Zero's head from a picture and added a little pumpkin, I stuffed with cotton batting. His ghost body is 4 layers of cheese cloth, starched slightly.
Sally's dress is just a simple patchwork dress with machine embroidery at each seam to look like black stitches. I enjoyed making " my baby of 4" her very own one of a kind Halloween costume. She wore it the week before to a costume party.
