So I'm absolutely brand new to quilting! I have no idea how to get started with anything, please help? All I know is I would like to make a quilt.

Hi there! Here's a thread you can read through and get some ideas, there is a lot of good advice.

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=6260.0

When you have some specific questions let us know and we'll try to help. My best advice would be to get a good, basic quilting book that covers a little bit of everything to start out with. (if not to buy, at least to check out from the library!)

One of my favorites is The Encyclopedia of Quilting, by Donna Kooler. A good blog to read is Oh Fransson.

I am currently working on my first quilt as well! A baby quilt for my mom-to-be bestie. I used a bit of a mash up of these two tutorials. It's been pretty easy so far, I just can't seem to do ANYTHING straight (cutting or sewing) lol. But I'm learning and it is SO much fun!

Good luck and post pics when you're done, I will be! Smiley

Welcome to the art. I'm new at it myself and have to make a pact with someone to stay out of the fabric store for a while!

Fabric stores sell pattern sheets, some with difficulty ratings. So you might find one that appeals to you or gives you ideas.
