My mom is a kindergarten teacher and this year the theme of her classroom is birds. Last year she had a treasure chest for the kids to pick prizes from. This year she's got Treasure Nests. Smiley I have a mud dauber's nest too, but I don't have pics of that one. I covered it in plaster to look like mud and then spray painted it brown.

The first one is supposed to look like straw or something like it.
 




This one is a magpie nest, that's why it's got lots of little bits stuck in it.





They're about a foot in diameter and about eight inches deep.

They love getting to dig in the nests for prizes Smiley The magpie nest gets lots of use, I think the kids are drawn to the shiny bits   Wink
