I found this cute pattern online (www.craftdesigns4yo u.com) a while ago and decided to make it for my Grandma for Christmas. I used Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn! Tweed colors to give it a homey country feel and used the shell stitch to add a ruffly border. Sorry for the bad pictures, it's hard to take pictures of blankets!

This is so cute, nice choice on the tweed.  Thanks for sharing the link to the pattern, I HAVE to make one now.

Thank you everyone! My grandma has so many cats because she lives on old farmland and they just started showing up and would get dropped off. So I started making this about a year or so ago when I worked in technical support and could crochet during calls. I had to put it down for a while because I work internet response now and type all day.. but the timing is kind of perfect because my Grandma has been traveling a lot and misses her cats so hopefully it will be comforting Smiley

@Rosemary1111 - It didn't take that long to make, the squares are all single crochet and the kitty's are cross stitched on. I crocheted the majority of these at work during phone calls and I was able to complete one square from start to finish during an 8 hour shift. It felt like it worked up a lot quicker than most afghans because see constant progress! Cheesy

I love cats, so I love this!

Crocheting is like prostitution.  First you do it for love, and then for a few close friends, and then for money.  Maybe that is why they call us Hookers?

I wish I could crochet, so I could make something like this.  Great job...I'm sure your Grandma will love it!
