For Halloween last year, my husband and I went as a deceased viking and the Valkyrie who has to escort him to Valhalla!

I sewed my cape and skirt, and altered a store-bought viking helmet with bronze paint, feathers, and discs of craft foam (to plug up the holes left after removing the horns). My shirt and boots are from my closet, and my bodice was purchased at the NY Ren Faire a few years ago.

I made my husband's armor by sewing a tunic of brown wool felt and attaching strips of pleather with glue and basting stitches. I also altered a store-bought helmet for him, by covering the holes with foam, adding a painted foam piece for the nose guard, spray-painting the entire helmet bronze, and aging it with black paint. I wrapped and tied extra pleather around his calves. His shirt, pants, and slippers were from his closet.

What an original idea for a couples' costume!  Well done.

And I have to ask...is that his real hair?  Jealous!

I have boxes of vintage piano music.  Some as old as 1890's!  PM me if you'd like some!
