I've gone skirt crazy!

I've known how to sew for years, now.... but clothing is something I haven't really ventured into. That was until I found some really cool fabric a few months ago and decided to make myself a skirt out of it. I got so many compliments on it, that I've gone skirt-making crazy! Here are a few of my favorites so far! =)

I'll start with my favorite. 



My Outer Space skirt!



I LOVED this flamingo print! It's so bright and colorful. =D

Skull & Roses. I really love this print.



I call this my "Crazy cat lady" skirt.



It can be so difficult finding unique prints for plus sizes, so I really enjoy making these skirts. Other plus size women are always asking me where I got them from. I'm planning on taking a sewing course at the college next year so I can move onto dresses and other, more complicated, clothing items.

Good job!  There is no reason why plus sized women can't have fun with fashion if they can sew!  I love that you also wear cute belts with your skirts to flatter and show off your curves!  My favorite is the skull and roses with your stylish shoes! Love the entire outfit!

Are the waistbands elastic?  How did you hem them?

My belts mostly came from Torrid or Ross. I'm having a hard time finding them now, though. They were really "in style" last year, so they were easy to find, but now I rarely find any.

Your crazy cat lady skirt made me laugh - It reminds me of two of my friends who have decided that their retirement plan is being a Crazy Cat Lady. Although I personally love your flamingo skirt.
