How cute!  I did something similar for my son when he was about the same age, but he was a tree.  I used a camouflage-print hooded sweatshirt and attached tons of fake leaves all over it.  Then I stuck a little fake nest with an egg inside on top of the hood, and stitched a little stuffed squirrel to one sleeve.  He wore it with brown pants (for the tree trunk).  I stitched on all the leaves instead of using glue, and it was SUCH a pain in the neck.  But boy, was he cute.  Nice job!
