I worked on this while hurricane Sandy rattled our windows and sent sparks and arcs of electricity flying from the transformer in front of our house.  I finished baking it just as we lost power. Now that we have power back I finally got a chance to take pictures. The fish are adapted from Christi Friesen's tutorial.  Here's her website http://www.cforiginals.net

This one is my favorite. Lit up in the dark

Thank you all for your kind words! I'm kind of in love with this vase and will actually be a little sad if it sells. My DH had no clue what I was doing smashing clay into our collection of corals!  Recently I've been loving Christi's work and she has a ton of free and inexpensive tutorials (the fish are adapted [different fins, much larger] from one of her free ones).

I also didn't realize how messy my table was until I looked at these pictures again!

LOVE it!!!

is the translucent "jar" made of clay as well, or just the embellishments? and what lights it from inside?

Thank you!

It's all built over a small trifle style dish.  It's under 8" tall. I used a lot of translucent clay mixed with pinches of different blues and then marbled for the "water." I'm using a battery powered jack'o'latern light but a candle also works.
