My dog had a beloved blankie, but it was starting to look a bit worn and dirty (despite repeated washings!!).

So I went to the pound shop and got her a new blankie. The problem was that she just didn't love it as much as the old one.

So...A bit of cutting, sacrificing a pair of PJ bottoms and some patchwork later, she had a new quiltish blankie:

The blankie (with dog) from the top

And with the bottom flipped to show the old blankie.

The new blankie (the brighter pinky one) that I bought was a long rectangle shape, and I can't bear waste, so I made her a pillow cover using the other half and some more sacrificed PJ bottoms.

I'll get a pic when she gets off of it!!

Nucky is a rescued Chihuahua cross. She's now really happy with her new quilty blankie!

I'm so glad she loves the new quiltish (love the term!) after you put so much work into it.

How adorable.  Our 14-year old dog has a bed she has loved a little too much over the years, but she won't lay on anything else.  I have repaired and repaired it, but I think it is getting close to beyond salvageable. This is a great idea! Thanks for the post!
