The Sea Witch

Never underestimate the power of BODY LANGUAGE!

My Ursula costume is completely handmade--even the shell necklace.

I hate the silouettes from store bought Ursula costumes.  The lady has curves, people!  I created my own BLUBBER from foam and designed the skirt around it.

The necklace is made of simple modeling clay painted in gold metalics.

The corset top has hooks in the front and laces up in the back.

The legs are fully posable.  This one took a while.  I couldn't find anything strong enough to hold the shape while not being too bulky.  Wire hangers did the trick!

Underneath, I added a layer of sheet blue material to simulate the ocean (and hide the legs).

You guys are awesome!  Thanks for the compliments.

Luna, I completely forgot to mention the suction cups.  They were a beast to attach!  You can tell there's a little wear and tear on them after the holiday, but otherwise they've done the job.

Surprisingly, I only had one incident with the suction cups.  If someone steps on a tentacle over tile flooring, the suckers are going to stick to the floor!  Good thing this is a study costume. Smiley

LOL I didn't think of that..... actually that would be too much fun to pick on you, I can't believe people didn't intentionally stick you to things while you weren't paying attention!

lovesclutter,  Ursula is from Disney's Little Mermaid!  I forget sometimes that everyone who was *not* four years old when that movie came out may not know who Ursula is!

Jen, let me know if you do Ursula and want any help!  I don't really use patterns, but I could sketch out the dimensions I used.
