Harry Potter Half Blood Prince Quidditch Training Costumes

My husband and I did a fun-run for Halloween this year. We both love Harry Potter, so going with the athletic theme, as well as comfort for running, I made us the Quidditch try-out costumes from the Half-Blood Prince movie. I am the Gryffindor seeker and my husband is the Ravenclaw chaser.
 
I made the body of the costumes out of lining fabric to show movement and motion in the wind. The arm and leg pads are made from vinyl, batting and bias tape. For a fun touch I made a fabric snitch that I embroidered and attached to a headband, which I wrapped in ribbon, to look like the snitch was hovering by my head. I also put ribbon down the arms of my costume for the striping. Unfortunately, I ran out of time to do the same for my husband's.
 
I printed the house crests out on fabric paper and sewed them on to the costumes. It was the first fun-run we have done and we fared pretty well despite the weather. I also had a lot of fun making the costumes too!
