Hi all,

here is something i have just made, it didnt take long but am so proud of it.... it will go on a runway at a hot rod/rockabilly festival as i am having a stall. Cape on the back with same binding stripes, lapped zip @ back, flared skirt, sleeveless sweetheart neckline! Im thinking of adding a big white bow in the centre at the point of the neckline, and some big white buttons either side of the CF line (center front- down the middle). Im pairing it with white gloves, white belt (which i have yet to make) and a large hair lily in pink/white colour. Yay!

Thanks for looking any questions or comments appreciated and welcome!

Very sharp, that's one of my favorite necklines!

Ooh, what a lovely design! Looks really well constructed, too. I'd sure love to see pics of the back, the cape sounds like too much fun.

That's very cute. I think I'd go with either bow or buttons. I hope you share pictures of the complete outfit. It sounds great.

I too would like to see it in action (full outfit).
Love this dress - the color and the style.  As a (fomer) sailor, I would wear this everywhere I could get away with.

Wow! Thanks so much everyone, you guys are too kind! Yeah maybe a bow would be too much, but I am just all over bows - that's just me!   Tongue Haha, i'll pin the buttons on and see... will post finished outfit @ the fashion show if i can jog to it in time from my stall!!  Grin

Yeah it was pretty easy/quick and the materials are common too if anyone wanted to re create it at home! Navy coloured cotton poplin approx. $6.99 p/m and it took about 3m with a few scraps left over for maybe making a small sailor hat or fascinator. It's all about getting your bodice to fit right, im just crossing my fingers it fits my model - all im going off is a waist measurement!  Embarrassed ...you dont need to worry about hips because its as flared as you want it to be! Binding was just top stitched on. Oh, and i'll get a picture of the back too!  Wink
