Wired Pumpkin

I didn't come up with this project, I saw a picture of it but couldn't find instructions anywhere so I just made it myself.   I think it was originally called hardware store pumpkin or something similar.

I used 18 gauge wire, wire cutters, and round objects like a pen to form circles. I can't post pictures yet but here's a link to a page on my website that has a lot of pictures of the pumpkin and how I made it:

Yup! I used to be into beading so I have quite the collection that I never use. The ones here were some I've been wanting to use for awhile and this seemed like the perfect way

That really is perfect.  I love incorporating unexpected materials like that!  Awesome.

That's a really good idea!  It's a great, interesting alternative to a traditional jack-o-lantern!

Very pretty and unique way to decorate a pumpkin. I bet pushing the wires into the pumpkin had to be hard on your fingers.

Actually the wires went in very easily! I was surprised because I thought that it would be difficult too but they stabbed right in. They did leak a little where I stabbed the pumpkin but I just wiped away the "pumpkin tears."

You'd have "pumpkin tears" too if you were a pumpkin getting poked with wires. LOL You should try this again using those fake pumpkins you can get in craft stores....they won't rot.

Haha, good point.  I wonder if the wires would stay in the fake pumpkins as well. Definitely something I will have to try. I can even just pull out all the wires I already formed and stick them into the new one to save myself some work.
