Jennie

I've not seen the BBC version. Compared to the one with Keira Knightly, which one do you prefer?

Definitely the BBC version!   Smiley    Love, love, love this show.   And all period British pieces.   Cheesy

And I've been plotting all day as to what to make for my partners.  I've decided on two of them (and ordered supplies), but am still thinking about the 3rd.   Smiley

I shall have to see if I can find the BBC version then! Maybe Netflix? idk

Also, I'm sending an extra or two, if you don't mind. I crafted an item to send to you, and then I was like "I'm done? Impossible! I haven't had enough of HP crafting yet."

Pottermouth

I agree! People must somehow experience the awesomeness that are British authors! I think I'll have to look up those titles also, and read them.

I do love American literature too, though.
Stories/Poems by Edgar Allen Poe
James Patterson's series (Maximum Ride Series)
Emily Dickinson has an interesting style of poetry
And I can't think of others right now...

There is no question, BBC version hands down.  Didn't care for the Keira Knightly one at all.  The Bennets might have been poorer than the uber-rich Darcys, but they didn't have chickens wandering around in the house.  (Although as a costumer, I do have to say that the style lines on the men's wear in the Knightly version was exceptional and period correct.)  The BBC version got the feel of Austen's book much more closely.

Plus, two words:  Colin Firth.

If you have the disk option for Netflix, you'll find it listed under "Masterpiece Classic: Pride and Prejudice"  You DO NOT want the 1980 version.  1995.  Oh, and if you don't have the disk option for Netflix, check your local library.

Oooh!  Pinks!  We could play the game together, via texting or instant messaging!  We'll have to set up a date after Christmas to curl up on the couch and do that.  I wonder if I can crochet tipsy....  Hmmm....  I have found out that I can in fact sew straight lines that way....

oh my I LOVE the BBC of P&P!  Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth - just wonderful!

So, along with that, I have a short story.

I, like Jennie, need to have something on in the background while I'm working. Whether it is music or a movie, doesn't really matter. So the other day I dropped my 5 y/o off at kindergarten and came back and asked my 2 y/o if she wanted to watch a movie while I got some Christmas sewing done and she said yes. What did she hand me? P&P. I asked her if she was sure and didn't she want to watch a cartoon and she said "No mama. I watch this." And she did. She sat down and watched the first disk! Albeit she got up a lot and played with toys, but she came back a bunch and sat on the couch with them too. My mind was boggled!

True story.

Both of my packages are done. I need to wrap items and write cards tonight. They probably won't go out till Friday though, since that is pay day. Smiley

lol, that is awesome!!  I can't imagine any other 2 yr old wanting to watch P&P!

I think I have figured out what I want to make for my partners.  And the plus side, I have everything that I need to make my projects at home.  Score!!  I'm hoping to get a start on it tonight or tomorrow night.  Are you ready chughes, indigo_roses, and mariak for some HP ornaments?  Chughes and I are doing a set of 3 ornaments, which is gonna be awesome!
