Thanks everyone  Kiss Kiss Kiss
This is stunning. I am not brave enough to do lace.
Its not as scary as you think. If you do a lace overlay, cut all your pieces in fabric and in lace and stitch them together all the way around on your seam allowance. Then you treat them as one piece of fabric and sew as you would any other material. Lace yokes are a bit more delicate but the overlay technique is very easy. If you use contrasting colours you will get a very nice effect, too. I hope this is giving you some ideas to try out.

First of all, I am OBSESSED with this dress!! It is so beautiful!! You did an amazing job! I've been toying with a few ideas for dresses with a lace overlay but I am a very novice, self taught seamstress, so i've been a little too nervous. Second of all, I was going to ask you if the lace is just laid over the fabric and are two separate things that might just be attached at the top or something, but this was a very good explanation and actually helps me a lot, so thank you!!
What a wonderful dress, and you look amazing in it! Thanks for the help and the inspiration!

Wow! The dress looks like it's worth a million bucks! I really love it!  Cheesy
I was wondering though, how many meters/yards of lace did you use overall and how did you finish the seams on the lace?
