bOAKmarks - they're bookmarks and they're oak! - featuring Elmer's productsSeeing all the lovely leaves fluttering about the pace and blanketing the floor inspired me to make these. The earthy papers I used were great, but I think they were really enhanced by the CraftBond Gel Pens I used, lots of metallicy glittery colours, perfect for these!

I'm sure you can work these out, they are so simple (but hopefully effective)! But I took some progress photos to share.
So first, gather your supplies. I used...
- CraftBond Gel Pens
- Heavy weight cardstock (I used AC Cardstock Earth Tones 216gsm)
- X-ACTO Precision Tip Scissors
- Sari silk yarn (but ribbons or other yarn would work too)

Using the different gel pens, draw out various sizes of oak leaves on your papers.

Cut around the leaves using some good scissors. I used a pair of X-ATO Precision Tips and they cut into the rounded corners perfectly.

Do the same with the other sheets of cardstock until you have a nice variety of colours. I went through and matched different colours and sizes up until I was happy. Mine are pairs of leaves, but you could use just one, or three, or...

Hole punch the ends of your leaves, then thread your yarn through.

Along the backs I stamped 'bOAKmark' because I enjoy my own pun far too much!

I used a lowercase font for the b and mark and an uppercase font for the OAK.

Then you can sit back and enjoy your forest floor of new bookmarks!

You could also use them as decorations.
Now where did I put that book?
