I just completed my first set of pottery classes on wheel throwing, and its bittersweet, because it was an awesome experience and I'm sad that its over for now.  I'm planning on taking more classes in January.  Here are my first three completed projects in the class.  I still have a couple pieces that are being fired and then need to be glazed.  I will post those up once they are done.

Here they are!  A decanter, a little pot, and a mug.

Thanks for looking!

Very nice! I love the color of the mug you made. I loved taking pottery classes too. I'm hoping once I get a real job my classroom will have a kiln!

Thanks!  The mug is for my sister who wanted something dark.  Its hard to tell in the picture but its mostly black but I also flecked on some red splatters.  I really want a kiln of my own someday.  But that is a far off dream!

I'm pretty sure it was electric.  Its was the kind where you press the pedal down to the speed you want and then go to town!

Thanks teachart and indogi!

These are great! And they are so even for your first tries. My first few lessons all my pottery turned out thicker in one area.

Thanks, Lime!  A couple of the long time students there call me "a shark in a swimming pool". ^_^  Everyone there is so wonderful and supportive!

Yeah, I had that problem, too.  My first two items were really uneven and still had them fired, but they broke in the kiln.  Sad!  They were lame anyway, so I'm not too heart broken about it.
