Ba Ba Ba Ba nanana! Minion Pumpkin!

My kids are obsessed with Despicable Me. Needless to say, they cannot wait for Despicable Me 2 to come out in a couple of months. We sing the Banana song which is in one of the DM2 trailers on a regular basis. The song is generally followed by fits of giggles from everyone involved.

So, I decided to indulge my littlest and carved her a Minion pumpkin for Halloween!


After drawing out my design, I used my wood carving Know How (which is minimal) to angle cut the edges to keep them clean and then undercut the area in the eye. The glasses is an extra canning ring that I had in the kitchen. The challenging part was shaving the pumpkin down past the orange exterior to get the yellow. I used a potato peeler and a mountain of patience. The peeler made this process move much faster than I anticipated. Woohoo!
