This is my first quilt plan.  I'm an intermediate sewster, so I'm confident that I can pull this off.  I just want to know if my plan is correct!  Will you please help me??  This will be a twin size quilt.  I have added 1/2 inch seam allowances.

If you don't mind, if you are replying to this post, What skill level quilter are you?  How many quilts would you estimate that you have made?  (Thanks.  That's just to help me to not freak out when I'm cutting the fabric.  You know how that first one can be!!)  LOL!  Feel free to add in any other info that will help me to feel better about riding this wild donkey!!  Much obliged, Ladies!  Yee haw!

I am an intermediate/advanced quilter and off the top of my head I can count 25 quilts I've made but I know there are more I am forgetting about.

I've checked over your plan and see on big mistake:

This is the center section - the small blocks you have labeled 12x12 (including your 1/2" seam allowances) so when you sew them together, they will each be 11x11 - when you add three 11" together you get 33" yet your adjoining pieces will only be 25" after sewing.  You will have the same problem on each section.

So, you either need to refigure the 12x12 blocks or enlarge the adjoining sections to be 34" before sewing.

Any reason you're doing half inch seams instead of the usual quarter inch? Personally, I would make the inner pieces and then measure those to cut your "sashing" (the 8x73) piece. Always easier for me Cheesy

I would say I'm an intermediate quilter, probably made 18-24 quilts plus assorted mini quilts and other quilting projects

You might want to try drawing this on graph paper too, I don't think it's drawn to scale as far as the numbers go. I think the proportions of blocks might look different if it were drawn on a graph with each block equaling one inch or whatever works to fit it on the page.

I planned on using 1/2 inch seams to give myself a little room for error.  You are right about the dimensions not being to scale.  I was just kind of winging it.  I may try graph paper.

This is my corrections, but now that I'm thinking about it they are wrong.

So the sections that are 2 and 2.5 should be 4 and 4.5.  Is that correct?

Okay, now I'm thinking, I should make all 3 sections the same and subtract a 1/4 in from each sashing section, to make everything even.  That correct?
