I really like the stormy seas necklace that anthropologie sold a while ago. I would like to make one myself but can't find the beads. I realize that people sell them on etsy but I'd prefer to make one. I'm looking for teardrop shaped faceted briolette beads with a hole through the top face and not the side. I've done a google search and looked at my local craft stores and can't find them. I found clear and black at JoAnn's but they are on the small side. All of the beads I have found online are drilled through the side. I have seen a few tutorials where people paint the clear kind with nail polish or acrylic craft paint but I question how well that will hold up. I also would prefer that they be somewhat semi transparent. I'm looking for a turquoise or orange, any ideas on where to look? They must exist because the people on etsy making necklaces have them.

Here is a picture of what I'm looking for.

Hi! Have you checked Etsy for these? Many Etsy sellers have unique supplies that you just can't find in local craft stores.

just like lauren, i recommend etsy.

doing a search for faceted briolettes turned up these:

someone, somewhere on easy should have the kind of briolettes you are looking for.  if not, check out firemountain gems at http://www.firemountaingems.com

i hope you are able to find them!

I've actually found a couple of places that sell them. Although some not necessarily the opaque ones like in the picture, cause I'm looking for those as well. Here is what I did find of that particular kind, and some others:

 Grin Perfect----->http://www.etsy.com/shop/Annjewelrystore?section_id=11922864 and http://www.etsy.com/listing/111720846/20-jet-black-teardrop-chandelier

 Huh BTW, I seriously don't know why its so friggin' hard to find these! It seems like ALL of the shops on Etsy, etc. have NO problem with getting a good supply, and I feel weird asking another shop owner where she gets her supply from. I don't want her thinking I'm trying to steal her customers away or anything. Personally, I've been doing the whole hand-paint those clear ones, which I got here  http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/large-clear-gem-drop-garland-920363/ , but that's quite time consuming to be totally honest with you. It's fine for that personal touch or hand-crafted touch, but then you have to up the price based on the time you took to paint it all and I don't want to do that if I don't have to.

If you find any, I'd like to know as well!
