I just made this year's pumpkin this afternoon, then I saw the contest, so I thought, why not share? Smiley

I painted my pumpkin this year, because my carving skills leave something to be desired. First, I prepped the whole face with matte medium, to make sure the paint would stick. I used cheapo craft acrylics and some acrylic inks where I didn't have the proper colors.

Here's his little hat. I made it out of some tagboard and hot glue, then plastered it with newspaper and elmer's glue. The obvious medium would have been mod-podge here, but with the weather as it is in Alabama, I avoid mod podge like the plague. It stays sticky FOR-EV-ER in this humidity. Well, I added some colorful feathers, ribbon, scraps and novelty yarn, and attached the hat with 2 pins.

And one more shot of his toothy smile:

So many fabrics, so little time . . .

Love it! I might try this too, but cut out his eyes and mouth to see how it looks lit up. Thanks for the idea!
