My husband and I just (and by just I mean Monday) celebrated our 2 year anniversary. Aka the cotton anniversary. I admit that first I was a bit stumped as to what to get him, especially since he has more t-shirts than I have clothing (da truth!), then I realized that this would be the perfect opportunity to create my first actual-smactual-bigger-than-a-breadbox twin size quilt! What a perfect project for a quilting newbie, right?

First I cut out a butt-load of squares.

Then, after a bit of fancy sewing, I started piecing things together. Obligatory kitten photo. What is it with cats and them sitting or laying down on whatever I'm working on?

Top quilt is lookin' fine!

All quilted, complete with a hand sewn binding. You don't want to know how many episodes of Alias I had to plow through to get that bugger finished.

Thanks for looking!

I can't believe this is your first quilt.  I've made a few, just blocks, so I can imagine how hard this must have been.  Well done, and it's gorgeous.
