Making leather gloves from scratch?

Does anyone know how to make leather gloves from a tanned hide? I have some goatskin that is so supple and would make perfect gloves. I have no idea how to go about making a pattern or buying(?) one. Advice?

I used this pattern to make a pair of steampunk mechanic gloves for a swap partner. That site also has this "modern" pattern. The Renaissance Tailor used glove.org's Elizabethan glove pattern.
