So I opened up my box of halloween decorations and found a few dozen 6in skeletons that i'd got on clerence last year. Threw a few of them up in my window display but decided the rest needed to be made into something more spectacular. So I made this little calavera doll.

i still need to figure out some sort of stand for her since she can't stand on her own, and then i think i'm gonna work on making a boyfriend for her.

I don't do as much day of the dead stuff as I'd like and i was just trying to keep this one kinda simple so any suggestions/improvements would be greatly appriciated.

thanks for looking!

thanks! and thanks for the idea. i've looked at those other ones online and they're crazy good, i dont think my painting skills are that good but i'm definatley gonna use them for inspiration and clothing ideas. mostly i'm having a hard time finding ideas for a boy version, i'm thinking something with a guitar but other than that i can't think of any ideas

a married couple would be cool - a guy in a tux, also a 3-piece mexican band like with a trumpet and guitar and marraccas!  Grin  haha dont down play your skills, your first doll looks great and the painting is so well done! x

aww thanks, painting/drawing isn't really my strong suit so i always doubt my skills, especially with something as small as this (the skull is about the size of the end of ur thumb, well my thumb at least, i've got pretty fat fingers Wink ) i was definately thinking of doing a bride and groom, but i'm loving the idea of a marachi band, gotta find me some tiny instruments  Grin
