Having celebrated a big "-0"  birthday this year, I decided I needed to have something to remember it by. This started as a puzzle blank, which was given me as part of a birthday bag of goodies (my friend knows me so well!!), I decided to use it to create an altered "birthday memory" puzzle.

I numbered the pieces and then jumbled them up and picked pieces at random. I did not use any direction and I love how it came out! All the bits and pieces were from birthday wrapping paper & tags, the invites/rsvp cards/thank you cards (you may notice an Alice in Wonderland theme to some pieces - I had a Mad Hatter's Tea Party for my birthday party), the fabric from my hat, birthday chocolate wrappers/wine labels and the glitter that was in the same goody bag as the puzzle. The ribbon hanger was from a present and the little glittery wrapped roses were part of the table decorations I made out of large playing cards.

I had a lovely birthday and was spoilt rotten and every time I look at this, I remember what presents were from which friends and the fun that I had at my party.

Really cool!

Power is strength and the ability to see yourself through your own eyes and not through the eyes of another. It is being able to place a circle of power at your own feet and not take power from someone else's circle.

Very colorful. I love the pops of glitter, too. I know about the blank puzzles, but lately I've been gathering old puzzles at thrift stores to use in altered art. I have a Hannah Montana puzzle that already has several pre-glittered pieces. Your work has given inspiration on how to incorporate them in a design. Thanks. Smiley

I've never seen anything like this before. It looks very cool! A special piece of art! Smiley. X
