diorama in a purse

here is my contribution to the diorama challenge. it was inspired by a web site about victor hugo era france and i took the images from that web site.

it's made in a cigar box-turned purse for easy portability. here's the front


and the diorama on display


finally, a close-up of the scene. hope you can all see it clearly (sorry about the podge-related glare)


so what do you think? all i used was the box, the images, tiny scissors, podge, newspaper and some red flowers.

god, this is freaking fantastic! I bow down to you! (Did you paste the figures on cardstock?) I love everything about it- the fact that it's in a purse, the design, the theme. Fabulous!

thanks! i used cardstock to make little stands for the characters and glued them in place. glad you like it.

I love the portability/surprise  factor.  The cardstock figures are also great.  I don't know why, but it reminds me of a Mona Lisa box- art object (not the one with the mustache) that Marcel Duchamp did.

Whoa, that's really cool, I'm totally voting for you.

I once saw this neat purse sort of like that. they had kind of taken the box apart and re-hinged it so that the stuff was displayed on the outside with glass covering it and then the purse part was empty inside. I bet you could make a fortune selling something like that. Diorama purses!!
