I bought an out of print quilt book by Doreen Zimmerman awhile back.  I was inspired by these little sailboats on one of the quilts, so I made my own version.

The boat in the upper left corner was initially pieced together incorrectly, but I liked my mmistake so much, I made another mis-pieced block for the opposite corner. Each boat is 2" x 2".  To give you a sense of scale, here it is hanging by my fireplace:

I think the "mistake" blocks are great -they look more like a sailboat to me than the "correct" ones!  Grin

and holy cow, how tiny!  Love it in so many ways.

Beautiful! And the scale image gives me a good idea on how TINY this is!! Unbelievable!

The little sailing boats are so cute and I love the colours red, blue and white a lot.
I didn't notice the mistakes until you mentioned it, it makes it really your quilt, very personal.

LOVE it! I hit this rocks! And pin it, as a reminder to try this some day.

Thanks for sharing.

Wow!  I can't believe how tiny it is!  It is gorgeous and I still can't believe anyone can make something that perfect so small!  Great, great job!
