My mom bought a condo at the beginning of the year. Her guest bathroom has teal tile, and she bought a brown shower curtain with teal circles on it. It's obviously a little late, but I made her a mosaic to go in her bathroom. This is my 3rd mosaic, and my largest (12"x12"). The grouting was definitely a learning experience since I encountered problems that I didn't in the past two.

Things I like about it:  I really love the coppery look of the brown pieces. You can sort of see that where the flash lit up the tiles. I also like the different teal circles.

Things I'm a little disappointed in:  I think tan grout would have looked better. Also, make sure that you wipe all of the grout off before it dries!  Undecided I ended up having scrape grout off of many of the tiles, and I had to dig some of them out.

Aside from the problems, I still think it came out Ok though it's definitely not perfect. I just hope she likes it (her birthday is over Labor Day, so I'm giving it to her then).

I think it is gorgeous. I'm pretty sure your mom is going to love it.  Grin

I think you did a great job, and am sure your mom will like it, too.

As for the grout issues I would be glad to help with any questions you may have. Colors, cleaning, whatever. Smiley

Thanks for the offer of grout help. Not sure why this project turned out to be problematic, since my first two went smoothly. A learning process... Smiley

Mosaics are 100% a learning process. Every time I do a new one I learn something new. Smiley

Wow! it's very striking! I love doing mosaics, I haven't had the ability to do very many of them though.
