So I'm going overseas next month to Bali, and decided to make myself a one piece swimwear. Although this one may be alittle more conservative with a pair of jeans I love the retro vintage feel!

I had some poka dot 1 way stretch fabric (not super stretchy, but with some stretch) and some left over black mesh fabric with little black mesh dots.

I had a pattern I found on Burda Style, theres a free one for a t-shirt dress, and used the top halves of the patterns and traced a pair of knickers for the bottom.

My first fit was bad, I did not allow enough room to go over the bum and around the crutch. Not only did I have camel toe, but it turned into a massive g-string that even I had trouble pulling out - not pretty at all.

This was easily fixed by inserting another piece of fabric and rejoining the crutch area.

I love your new suit! Smiley  The ruffles really make it so cute.  And it was very clever to mix patterns to get the shape you wanted - thanks so much for sharing.. I am going to have to remember this for later!

Lol about not adding crotch allowance, I did the same when i tried to make my first swimsuit and I know exactly what you mean! Yours turned out great though! Be proud. Swimwear's a tricky one!
