I saw this dress while browsing on Modcloth

http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses/looking-to-tomorrow-dress#

It's pretty but too much of "Annie" like to my taste. So, yesterday, I went to my Fabricville (Quebec version of Fabricland) and fell for a berriesque Ponte de Roma knit. I also bought a black Fall fashion suiting fabric to make kind of a Wednesday Addams version Wink

Now, I need all of your sewing skills to see if I could use that fabric with Cynthia Rowley pattern #1873 from Simplicity? I would do view A but with the shorter skirt and a peter pan collar added. I've read that Ponte are stable enough to be use as you would a woven but with a ball point needle. I also have a serger that I could use to make this.

Any help is more than welcome before I cut and make a huge mistake.
