I'm new to knitting, I've dabbled in it in the past, but I'm just now working on my first sweater.  I decided the next thing I wanted to do is some fingerless wrist warmers, like these: http://www.sockdreams.com/products/brand/orkney-angora/orkney-angora-wrist-warmers?tv=2&utm_expid=13025392-9&utm_referrer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sockdreams.com%2Fproducts%2Fbrand%2Forkney-angora

I found some nice yarn (wool cashmere blend!) in the clearance bin, and there was only one skein of it (90m) in that color, so I thought this would work for it.  My question is, will it work just to knit a tube on dpns?  Does it really need any shaping, or is ribbing enough?  What's the best way to ensure they're the same length?  I was thinking about unwinding the skein, measuring it out and cutting it in half, then winding two equal balls to knit from, since I'm not sure exactly how far 90 meters will get me.

The ribbing should be enough, make it about the size of your wrist and don't CO or BO too tightly. If you have a kitchen or postage scale around you can weigh the remaining amount. Or wind it in 2 balls, one from each end - don't cut it until you're sure they're even.

Thanks!  I'll see how it works.
