Here's a little mug I made in a wheel throwing class a few weeks ago. I've taken ceramics classes before but it's been about a decade since my last one. So I'm pretty proud of this mug. It's about 3" tall and 3" in diameter.

Wow, I love that mug, cinnamon!  Did you stain on the design and then fire it, and then put on the glaze?  I just completed my first set of pottery classes but I'm not even on the level of making lovely designs on my pieces like you did.  It is so so pretty!

Jilly, I used a technique called sgraffito. It's where you put a layer of slip or in this case underglaze on leather hard clay and then scratch it off to create a two tone image. It's a lot of fun a good way to waste a ton a time. Cheesy
