I made these boots for my wedding at Burning Man in September. (And previewed them a couple weeks ago with a shirt http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=414685.msg4901253#msg4901253)

I built the gold boot on top of a sneaker and attached it mostly with E6000 (and some stitching, eventually). It's held up great for two years at Burning Man and all the parties since. I extra-blinged them out this year for my wedding.

Most of it is sewn by machine, which made the decorating a breeze! Some of it is glued on with Beacon fabric glue. Ive had great results on other projects, but it wasnt tough enough to hold all the trim in place on the boots. Which isnt to say that its a bad glue (it was much easier to work with and smell than E6000). Ill be picking off the old glue and re-attaching the trim at the bottom of the boot, and hand-sewing the rest.

I lined the shaft of the boot with some cotton jersey I had left over from leggings, so they are comfortable to wear with short socks.

I wore the boots throughout the week. They were eye-catching and much remarked upon, but most importantly: they were always comfortable! And perfect for the wedding.

They are even better than your shirt. I like the mix of colors from the ribbons and their shape is so perfect...I wish they were mine.

I love your boots. They are the best project I've seen in a while. I love all that texture and the colours. I visited your blog and even the lining is fun.

Also: a wedding at burning man sounds just awesome.

Do you have some sort of pattern for the boots? The shape is lovely.
Maybe I'm a little obsessed, but I have been looking forever and I just can't seem to find boots I really like. The pair you made is perfect. Probably I should try to make my own Grin
