Coloring glass

I was going to get these vases

They would be for my future wedding reception, colors of which will be purple and silver. But right as I went to buy them they went out of stock.
They do however have the same vase but in a clear version

Is there any way to color the clear ones until they look like the purple??

Hi and congrats on your pending wedding.

You can color glass with acrylic paints or spray paint. Make it as opaque or transparent as you would like them to be. Maybe even do them in various shades.

*Just take the acrylic and either pour and roll it around inside of the glass. You could also apply with a brush/sponge inside, too. Once it is done use a clear spray enamel to seal the colors inside if you're going to use water in the vases.
*Spray paint them on the outside, but this way is less consistent.
*Also they do make enamel paint for painting on glass. This is probably the most costly of the 3 options. They are used on the outside and are heat cured.

Thanks.. I don't exactly have a wedding planned yet but I figured the vases could stay in the basement or attic for a year or two. I couldn't pass up the deal because I really liked the vases. For $1 each?!

What is flow acrylic?? I found a couple 1 quart bottles on clearance at Michaels for $4 each which is 1/4 the price of the little bottles if you look at it the price per ounce.. I'm guessing it is just a version that is a bit thinner??

Not sure what flow acrylic is, maybe you could ask at Micheal's. Usually the difference in prices of paints is the quality. Given what you want to do with it, best quality really is not necessary.

stained glass paint would be pretty, check the craft store.  some want to be baked in the oven if they'll be washed.

If you don't have a wedding definitely in sight, I would hold off on coloring the vases--you might change your mind about the color!
