I made these last year. I already had the cheap plastic skeletons from Walmart and the dollar store from previous years. I wanted creepier skeletons but didn't want to spend a fortune, so I modified my own.



 I covered the skeleton in expanding foam from a tube. Its fairly cheap but it's almost a one use item because the stopper doesn't really work so it keeps coming out of the tube. The spray foam gives it a nice texture.



After the spray foam hardened I painted the skeleton black with acrylic paint, then wiped it off, so the black stayed in the crevices.



Then I painted it a dark red to resemble burnt flesh.

whoa! theses are so creepy looking! they skeletons look really well made, I'd never guess you can transform them like this but using such simple methods and materials. you got me tempted to try crafting some spooky ones myself now!

What a great idea!  It's so hard to find good looking skeletons at a price that seems reasonable and you did a great job making this extra gory and scary!
