Anana is home, and he brought lots of awesome goodies with him!!!


First is the amazing scrapbook!


My favorite page is the one from the zoo... because I REALLY love that photo of Anana with the giraffe!


He brought his awesome Harry Potter costume from Halloween (plus a pumpkin for trick-or-treating).


Candy! Lots of treats, including a box of Ghirardelli, fresh from the factory in San Leandro!

And finally... I included a tiny passport for Anana when I sent him, so Rara Avis added California to the first page!


I forgot to take a photo, but I also have a bag (like a lunchbag, made of kind of a vinyl) from Ghirardelli.

I wanted to keep it a surprise, but I just can't... we have SNOW! Legit snow, not the wimpy little flurries we got yesterday. There was at least an inch by the time I got home from work an hour ago (the school closed an hour early) and it's still going strong and sticking! So I got a photo of the two Little Visitors together before it got dark!

I am so sorry I haven't posted in like forever. Please forgive my crazy first year music teacher life. I have been wicked busy getting Poppy ready to travel cross the Atlantic home.

I think I might have to take advantage of one or two days into the new deadline. I've had a very stressful week revising for exams - this morning I had an exam for my advanced first aid work (which I passed after being convinced I would fail, woo hooooo!) and I have my driving theory test on Monday so I now have that to revise for. I'm sure I could get everything ready for the original send out date, but now we've got some extra time I'm going to take advantage of it to take a bit longer over getting Po ready to go home, and I might even be able to fit in a couple more adventures in that time too

Love got sick last Sunday and I got sick a few days ago so while I was planning on trying to get Ihaka out by today to take advantage of the cheaper postage rates, looks like he'll be staying a little bit longer so I can get a few things finished up.

Last Saturday, we hit Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World. It's sorta like a zoo - big focus on environmental responsibility, conservation, etc. - with a lot of amazing animals and such so I got some pics taken there. It's a really gorgeous, earthy park with TONS of trees and plants and such and it's normally really hot to go through because it's so dense. The weather was really nice last weekend though so we had a chance to visit. (We normally only go in the winter because it's too hot the rest of the year.)

The symbol of the park is the Tree of Life. It's huge and has tons of these amazing animals carved into it. (It's not a real tree so don't worry, it wasn't harmed by the carving!)



They have all these walking trails with animal exhibits and such but you can see what I mean about dense foliage!



This is the Everest ride. The whole area is themed like you're in Asia heading into the Himalayan mountains.

 

I also took a ton of pics since I hadn't been there since getting my DSLR for my birthday last May. So it was a lot of fun that way too.

I'm going to take Giles on a final trip to our government city (no, our government is not in the capital  ) and I'll be praparing everything to send him home. I found another nice souvenir for him this week

Poor Sidney is stuck spending tomorrow helping me write a paper. I feel kind of bad that I haven't had time to do anything fun with him lately. Between work, school, and homework, all the rest of my time is spent eating and sleeping. 

I'm a bit behind, but I'm going to start Sidney's scrapbook this week. I swear I will get him home on time.

Anuenue got to see a bit of snow this week!



Tomorrow we are going to meet up with some craftsters at a Japanese New Years festival downtown!

I might just have to keep my little visitor around for a while: I think I've had more filming job in the last few months than in all the rest of 2012, and I'm thinkin' maybe Coccinelle's been my charm!  (Don't worry, Natasjadreams, I won't really keep her past the new deadline.)  The only bad part of this is I haven't had as much time to update her blog or post pictures here Craftster.  But I'll get caught up, if not before she leaves then I should at least be able to by the time she's back in Brussels from Los Angeles.

Tomorrow we'll be working on an something especially exciting: a helicopter landing and taking off!  It's just one little piece of a scene, and I don't know how close we'll actually be to the whirlybird action, but Coccinelle and I plan to take as much advantage of the situation (safely, of course) as we can!!
