Ihaka helped me have a successful first art/craft market this weekend!! It went well and I definitely feel it was a good experience and I gained a lot of confidence I can move forward and do more shows now.

Here's my table! Like I said, this is my first time doing a show so I had to get a table and make my displays and configure my set-up and everything. Think it came out pretty good!



Here's a shot from behind the table looking out. You can see Ihaka keeping a sharp eye out for customers!

Here are some piccies of Aurora I have been meaning to post for some time 

Here's Aurora after she climbed up a jacaranda tree when we went to the Jacaranda festival.



We came across a flame tree as well - Cold Chisel - an iconic Aussie band did a song about flame trees from this area and then Sarah Blasko did a gorgeous cover of this song as well,



We watched the yacht club for a while getting ready to sail the Clarence River



We crept quietly past the Grafton Gaol 



Had some yummy lunch at a cottage restaurant called the Vines



Then we went home and hang out at the beach





I know you're down there pincered friend





We are so excited for our trip to Brisbane tomorrow to see Gotye - yeah!!!!

whenindoubtsew - Here in Florida, we have jacaranda trees too! They won't be in bloom though until February/March around here though. It's neat to see them elsewhere since I know they don't grow in very many places in the world. Florida is sub-tropical in climate so we have some interesting plants and such that you don't find in the rest of the US.

I survived the weekend!... and failed to take a SINGLE picture. I worked a half day Saturday, signed the lease for the apartment, drove to Fairfax, spent less than 12 hours there (party and spent the night and left early in the morning), drove home, worked in the afternoon, and spent Sunday night and Monday (until noon) moving furniture into the apartment. We're still moving in, so I'll get some in-progress photos, but I'm sad that I missed the chance to take a photo of Peanut Butter with my BEST friend. He might be visiting in mid-January though, so I'll have to do it then!

I LOVELOVELOVE the photos of Anana decorating the tree! So cute! And I agree, I think he makes a great stand-in for the star I'll be doing my Christmas decorating this weekend after we're done unpacking.

Well the last two days have been busy and so much fun I was given an early Christmas present from my dad. Get ready for it....

A TINY LITTLE NEW BABY TORTOISE! She's so tiny! And Pose was here to say hello to the little guy of course I have been busy the last two days getting everything set up for the new little one in the house! Oh, I forgot how tiny these guys are at this age.
Just to give a bit of an idea as to why I am caught up on the tininess, here is a picture of my little one on top of Roug (the BIG one) who I first got way back when I was in middle school a decade ago, and she was about the same size as baby is now.

Needless to say they will not be rooming together until the new little one grows a good bit

I've updated Anuenue's blog with some adventures from last weekend.

On Friday, she helped me pick up a Christmas tree:


and then decorate it.


She also went downtown and saw both the real Capitol building


and also a model of the Capitol made out of plants!


There was also a trip to the NGA sculpture garden, with this big metal tree

Oh my gosh!  So many fun times.... here are some random thoughts....


It's funny to see pictures with Aurora, since she was just here visiting us this summer, and I had SOOO many pictures of her to sort through....   also, I think we took a very similar picture of her next to a crab hole here!

Florida is sub-tropical in climate so we have some interesting plants and such that you don't find in the rest of the US.

Tee hee except here.  I guess we're theoretically still the U. S....


OMG I want a baby tortoise!  EEEEEEE!


Wow, Anuenue looks like she's having fun!  I hope she's not bored when she returns to the same-old same-old here!


And Oh so many pretty trees!  Since we are going to the mainland next week, we only have a little tree here... my mom had sent it to me way back when I was in college, and it's somehow stuck around all this time.... I need to remember to get a picture of Rupert with it before we leave!
