Anuenue and I are back, and the power is back on too. Yay! I've updated her blog, and here are a few photos as well:

Can you find Anuenue near the statue of the founder of Albuquerque?

Hopefully her trip to San Francisco in December will be less eventful....

Alby hasn't had much adventures the past few days because i've been buried in schoolwork and I managed to pick up the flu Sad
He has been a real sweetheart though motivating me through the mountains of work:  . . .  And guarding my endless supply for tissues:  . . .
I've put more pictures of our elephant hunting on fb: http://www.facebook.com/AlbysTripToBelgium

Sorry you're not feeling well and hope you're better soon.  Glad Alby's been such a good helper with your school work and your illness!

And I was so excited to see him taking in the Elephant Parade -- they're all so wonderful!  From 2000 to 2002 we had something similar here, except the artist-decorated sculptures were angels (los angeles is Spanish for "the angels"), and I was able to see a great many of them in person.  Many were truly breathtaking, some were funny, others...indecipherable.  But almost all were fantastic, and even if it was a style or subject matter that didn't appeal to you, the work that went into them was usually impressive.  The angels were eventually auctioned off for charity, and if my bank account had been fuller at the time (and, more importantly, if I actually had a place to put one) there were several I'd have bid on!  (I did, however, get a book of photographs that I think has at least one picture of each angel.)  If anyone's interested, you can see some (but nowhere near all) of them here: http://www.publicartinla.com/Community_of_Angels/

Both those parades and sculptures look and sound incredible!

Aurora spotted a kangaroo out the back of our place yesterday

Yesterday, Ihaka helped me carve one of my foam (fake) pumpkins. I used to do these a lot and we started using the foam ones because this way we could save them from  year to year and build up a larger collection. When my friend Rand passed away, sadly, all of our Halloween pumpkins (about a dozen of them) got thrown away accidentally. This is the first one I've actually carved since then, so it was good to make one again.

Unlike the one I made for my Mom, this one, I used one of the fancy patterns to create.

Pineapple Harry Potter?! Cutest thing ever.

Things are still really quiet here. It still hasn't stopped raining, but it's supposed to stop in time for the weekend, so we're going to go out.

We don't really celebrate Halloween here but we did a couple of fun thing last night.
We harvested most of our pumpkins:

look at that, and that's not even half Cheesy
Then we went and checked out the awesome full moon (but my camera isn't awesome enough to capture it)

We got ourselves some candy:

And this morning Alby dressed up and scared me:

We had fun Cheesy
