I'm saving some for the album but here's a few of Ihaka's photos from the visit to the botanical gardens today. As you can clearly see, even in late October, things are very green and very lush here!

Did you know I have a thing for botanical gardens (I visit them wherever I can, I've even been in the one in Calcutta, India) or do we just have similar taste?   Cheesy
Fantastic to see all these tropical plants and trees so full of green. And just when Ihaka visited NZ I wonder...why haven't I squeezed myself into the envelope in stead of him?  Wink

Oh and we didn't have big adventures today, but it was a warm autumn day (around 20 degrees C) so we enjoyed city centre with an ice cream. Here, when there's a bit of sun, people sit on the terrace of bars and have coffee or a beer. Sometimes they even sit under a blanket...as long as there's sun.
On the right you see the terraces (on boats) of our city centre and on the left is a part of city hall.

Yay, Alby has arrived (though I'm a bit worried about Cocinelle taking so long now Sad).
Here he is with his scarf, although today is the warmest day in the past few months here Smiley
Same as here  Cheesy In what part of Belgium are you?

Nope, just similar tastes I guess!! Grin

I did the conversion. 20C = 68F. That would be quite chilly for Florida! Cheesy We would break out the long sleeve shirts. LOL It's 83F (28C) today and that's really nice for us. It's so cool and pleasant. *chuckles* Of course, Florida is known as "The Sunshine State" and the sun is out here like 345+ days a year or something, so there's never a lack of sun!

Faox has had a busy weekend, but I haven't downloaded pictures yet.  We went to a bellydance show and a drum workshop, and then off to play D&D.  Hopefully, I'll get the pictures before next weekend, when we have not one, but TWO Halloween parties.  Cheesy

Yesterday Anuenue explored a bit around Greenbelt.

She went to the farmers market and helped pick out some giant squash:

After lunch, she took a stroll around Greenbelt lake

She also learned how to read a rain gauge, although her method only works when there is less than 1" of rain (when it rains more, the inner gauge overflows into the outer gauge, and she would get wet).

Coccinelle has arrived in Los Angeles all the way from Brussels, Belgium!  Here she is, resting after her long journey, with her traveling companions -- five tiny, perfectly folded origami cranes; she also brought along a lavender-scented purple marker:

Coccinelle came just in time to watch the last formal televised debate between our candidates for President:

She met my two dogs, Bella and Fred:

Bella promised not to carry Coccinelle around in her mouth (but just to be sure, they won't be in direct contact unless I'm around)....

Fred, as usual, just wanted to cuddle:

And guess what just by chance was for dinner?  Roasted BRUSSELS sprouts!

After years of thinking about doing for myself but never getting around to it, I finally started a blog, just for Coccinelle's visit: http://coccinelleinla.blogspot.com/

I see that people have been visiting Coccinelle's blog already (!), so if any of you bookmarked or otherwise made note of the link in my previous post, please replace it with this link: http://coccinelleinla.blogspot.com/ (just revised the original link to reflect this change, so both this post and the earlier one are now accurate).

The reason for the change is that I discovered the url misspelled Coccinelle's name (one "c" instead of two) and I wanted it to be accurate should anyone want to just type it into an address bar.

So, today we went apple picking in a huge orchard in the area.

And as Giles couldn't stop so we brought 5 kilos  Wink

After the Apfelstrudel that I'm making tomorrow there'll be so many left, so if you have a nice recipe with apples..let me know  Wink
