After some long and nervous waiting on the part of the Dutch and American postal services, I had a knock on my door this afternoon. Turns out, it was my super awesome mailman Earl with a package I needed to sign for. What package could that be? Turns out, it was Giles home from his stay with IdlersDesign!!

I opened the box to a ton of wrapped gifts and daffodil napkins. Daffodils are my favorite flower and they don't grow here in Florida, so what a nice surprise!

--

You can see as I was taking item after item out of the box. All of it was wrapped and labeled. And then here it is all unwrapped!!

--

A few close ups. There's a bundle of fabric, Giles in his winter wear (so cute), the cutest little Dutch boy and girl kissing salt and pepper shakers (Love said they were adorable and he's quite fond of them!), some candy, a pair of handmade wire ear cuffs (hard to see; they're in the matchbox), there's also tea from Germany in the purple wrapping and more tea in the neat little handmade tea holder. (It folds up into a neat little pocket-sized carry case!)

Next picture shows more of the goodies like a traditional blue-and-white tea towel with Dutch images (super cute), Kinder Eggs (!!! these are actually illegal in the US and I'm amazed that they survived intact through customs!), chocolate sprinkles (I remember my friend Rand getting these though I don't know that I've ever had them on toast. I'll have to give it a try!), candy and the daffodil napkins. There's also the edge of a nice weekly calendar of Holland but I apparently cut it out of the shot. Whoops!

--

And sorry both of these apparently came out blurry. I didn't notice until I went to edit them on my pc. I was all excited and giddy going through it all I guess! This shows my little faerie tale mushroom keychain, my I *heart* Belgium pen, card and handmade stickers. (They are all so cute!! She did them herself!) The other pic (also blurry, sorry!) shows the windmills of her town including the one that makes the flour she buys. Neat!

--

Here you can see some of the pages of the book. It's really neat; all hand done and the various location items like tickets or maps are all put into the book so you can have it all nicely together.

--

I love all the cool wrapping paper she used like the traditional blue-and-white Dutch ones and the Sinterklaas one!

THANK YOU SO MUCH IdlersDesign FOR BEING SUCH AN AWESOME PARTNER THIS ROUND!!!

It was great to truly make a friend from this exchange and I just love seeing all of the wonderful things Giles got to experience during his trip with you! Grin

Yay, I'm so relieved it finally arrived. I started to feel guilty even though I sent  Roll Eyes
Giles had a fantastic time here, I hope I was able to show that in the package & album. Today my son asked: "mom, where's the baby giraf?" So I told him he's back in America. "but I wanted to cuddle him more"  Wink
Hope you guys will visit Holland one day!

It looks like Malaika is having a great time, and seeing a lot in such a short time frame! I cant wait to see more of the Ren Fair, it looks like a ton of fun, and I LOVE that outfit!

On March 26 it was 55 degrees here, or close to it. The funny thing is, most of the Oregonians where crying about how warm it was! It was definitely the first "no sweatshirt" day here for the year! I grew up in Las Vegas, so Im not completely adjusted to the (MUCH) cooler temperatures in Oregon, but even I had the car windows down soaking up the sun while it was here!

I cant wait to see Malaika's scrapbook, and the secret place you visited!

I just received the most amazing, wonderful, fantastic, packed to the brim with awesome-ness angel package from PhoenixFireDesigns! While I'm sad the Albert Swinestein didn't come home, its hard to stay sad with the package of awesomeness from the Sunshine State!

I have no idea how PhoenixFireDesigns was able to cram so MUCH stuff into such a short time frame. I'm just floored. I even got a few tastes of Halloween and Christmas in both pictures and souvenirs, so it doesn't feel like I " missed" any part of the holiday experience. I can only picture that Malikia and PhoenixFireDesigns didnt sleep at all for 3 solid weeks to be able to see and do so much! And I was totally spoiled with goodies! Halloween and Christmas goodies, beach goodies, a Busch Gardens mug, Florida orange gum and yummy looking orange marmalade, and an amazing and well done scrapbook! With the scrapbook, there was also some paper stuffs- a map of Busch gardens, a Tampa guide, Ren Faire, and postcards. I love seeing this kind of stuff for places I've never been so I loved that she included some of this.

That package by itself would have made this one of the best swap packages ever- but there was a small pouch that had.... A rainbow tree of life pendant! It's made with gemstones, and is stunningly beautiful and well made. I'm definitely going to have to order one that I've been eyeing for my mom now! I can't say thank you enough! The whole package really made me smile, and was great to get at the end of a long week.

I'm getting some pics now, and will update soon but couldn't wait to post a huge THANK YOU!!!!! For such an amazing angel package!

I LOVED everything Phoenix, and you really did an amazing job. Im still just in awe of how much you were able to do in 3 short weeks.

Finally, pictures!

One of my favorite pictures from the scrapbook- this was taken in a library, and the sign says it will be noisy. Im a nerd, I know but that made me seriously LOL.

I loved these Christmas shop pictures! I only took two photos of the scrapbook, but it was full of lovely pictures!

Here is all of the goodies. The mug has already been put to good use! I havent tried the marmalade or gum yet. I have no real reason why. I think Ill go open up the marmalade now...

And, the most amazing, beautiful, fantastic tree of life pendant ever!

I feel totally spoiled! Thank you again Phoenix!
