So, a friend of mine asked me to make her a hooded cloak, and even found an amazing tablecloth to use for the fabric. It's a long (like atleast 12ft) rectangle, and has a really pretty edging. I'm trying to figure out if I can just fold it in half (short way, so it's only 6ft long), sew up the back, and then add a drawstring to form the hood. Any input as to if this would look right? The only patterns I've found are for circular cloaks.

You could maybe use large handstitching just to give you an idea of the look, that way, if you don't like it, you can just undo it.

Haha! That was an awesome suggestion! I tried it and it turned out, if I can say so myself, pretty wicked. Smiley I will have to upload the pics when I get home. Thanks!  Grin
