Hey everyone,

I have been looking for an industrial straight stitch machine.  I have been using my home machine (and an overlock machine) for some time to make mostly outerwear (jackets and sweaters made from 3L hard shell fabric and medium weight wool or wool blends).  I am really tired of trying to sew in pocket zippers with my improvised 1/8" compensating foot.  I've used some industrial machines and they are infinitely easier to use, not to mention the stitch quality is more consistent.

I have been looking around and I found a juki DLN-415-2 in good condition close to me for $500.  My problem is that I can't seem to find much information on this machine.  I understand that it is a needle fed machine (which I like).

Has any one had any experience with this machine?  Is this a good machine for sewing mediumweight materials or is there a machine that is sub ~600 that will work well for me?

Thanks for your help!
