I missed the deadline  I had a dentist appointment at 8am and left Peanut Butter and his box sitting on the couch. BIG HUGE OOPS! But I'll be driving past the post office on the way to work tomorrow, and I will deposit him there in the morning, first thing.

I'll miss Giles too!  I'll miss showing him around and I'll also miss the weird look of people and remarks (yes Dutch people always like to interfere with what you're doing  ) when they see me taking pictures of a small giraffe in front of a monument or museum 

It's not just the Dutch. Trust me, I got many a weird look posing my crochet pocket-sized turtle or stretching my arm out holding him to snap a shot. LOL

Well after a reluctant farewell Aurora is on her way home  we will miss her but are also looking forward to Aussie coming home  can' wait to see everyone's goodies!

I won't be starting the new round just yet, so no one panic... but I was wondering what everyone prefers for length of time in these swaps? Do you think they should be shorter (3 months), or longer (5 months or more)?

I personally prefer this shorter period to the 5-6month swap.  I don't want it to become ho-hum after a while.  Plus, I took enough pictures this round-- I don't want to have to whittle them down even more!

For the holidays, the 3-months was good because there was a lot going on. In the summer, down here in Florida, everything comes to a grinding stop because it's just too damned hot to do anything. So there are no art shows or festivals or whatever. If it were 3 months across June-July-August or something, I'd have very little to show my LV. So I'd say a slightly longer summer would be good for me with the shorter for the holidays maybe?

I agree with the idea of shorter times over the holidays and longer over the summer!

Here things start getting crazy in late Feb/ early March and wind down in late August... so I was thinking about a longer round for summer. I don't want to rush everyone though. Would something like April to August or September be about right?

I promise to do a better job with the next round, I knew there would be a learning curve to organizing a swap this large. Yay for Mountains and Clouds for being such a great co-organizer!

That would be great! I just found out there's a passport to adventure thing going on this summer where you visit nature centers and museums and get stamps and if you visit enough you get a prize!  Hopefully I'll get in for the next swap, it would be so much more fun with an LV.  Need to keep my eyes glued to the swap board!
