I joined the monster swap that was going on last month and had a ton of fun doodling up monsters. I ended up having a bunch of drawings but not much else to do with them. I didn't want to send a completely flat package so I knew it was time to branch out from 2-D drawings and try my hand at something 3-D-ish.
The altered tin swaps always inspire and amaze me so I wanted to do an easier version of that. I am no where near ready to do a tin! I took a couple of my drawings and photocopied them in case I messed them up and put them on two paper mache boxes I got from Michael's. I thought they turned out cute and I plan to make some more to use as the wrapping for Christmas presents.  Smiley

here are the tops. Ever since I discovered Distressing Ink I have become a junky! LOL!

This was the best shot I had of the sides. I used scrapbook paper. I used a little felt flower to hide where the paper met in the front. I thought it turned out cute.

I drew up the monsters myself and colored them with Copic Markers. And here it is with some of the goodies (I made stickers too!) I put inside or sent along with it.
I have some owl and sock monkey stuff to make more of these for my sister.  Smiley
Thanks for checking them out!

Those are super cute!!!  Loving the paper you chose!  (I'm totally a distress ink junky too!  Darn you, Tim Holtz!)

HA!  I knew it!  Your just inches from doing altered tins now Grin.  Your drawing style is fabfabFAB, and you could put anything you draw on anything and the anything will be all the better for it Grin (and I always think you should be illustrating uber cool and kind of creepy kids books when I see your stuff Grin)

THAT'S SO TRUE!!  I've been wanting to write a kid's book.... perhaps if I ever do, we could collaborate (she asks hopefully)?  Wink
